Licensed In-Home Massage Therapy
With over 700 hours of training, internships, volunteer work, studying abroad and my several years of experience in the field, I am used to working with all different types of people and the problems they experience. I always give 110% to help my clients reach their goals and strive to make sure that everyone has a positive massage experience - whether its for specific aches and pains or simply to relax. The work I do is important for improving the quality of life each person has.
In addition to my academic course work, my training included the completion of more than 160 hours of hands-on work at my school's onsite massage therapy clinic, local community races, and a 2-month internship at a personal training studio in Evanston, IL. After my 2004 graduation, I spent some time studying Thai massage in Thailand.
I am currently working on a BS in Kinesiology (study & science of human movement) to deepen my knowledge of physiology, massage, the human body, athletics and research.
I worked in fitness training, health club and spa environments for the first few years of my career, where I did everything from assisting with joint replacement surgery rehab, post-cancer care, athletic training, and chronic pain management, to spa services like mud wraps, salt scrubs, and relaxation massage. I met a lot of other therapists and worked with many different types of clients and their accompanying conditions. The best part was that it developed my ability to work with just about anyone.
In 2007 I started a private practice, seeing clients at their houses in Lake County, IL. I may someday move to an office, but am currently enjoying my near-zero overhead while I build my practice. (Plus, my clients love the convenience!)
